"GOD created the earth" day.

Scripture tells us that GOD has made everything we see:  the universe, this planet, and everything on it.  This is the very first verse of the Bible.  Genesis chapter one begins with, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth".

As the Creator, HE has a right and a claim over HIS creation.  We belong to HIM, and our duty is to serve HIM.  HE created us for a purpose!  That purpose is to know and worship HIM.

Psalms 100:1-5 KJV

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.  2  Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  3  Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  4  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  5  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

This earth day, many people will miss their true purpose in life.  They will give their time and attention to the Earth.  They will worship the Earth instead of worshiping its Creator, their Creator!  In doing so they fail at man's first and greatest purpose:  to love the Lord our GOD with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength! (Mark 12:30)

Worship the CREATOR, not the creation.
