The Dividing Line

The Dividing Line

The Gospel to the Romans

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.  16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
~  Romans 1:15-18 KJV

In these verses Paul introduces his readers (of the letter to the Romans) to the Dividing Line; that is the LAW of GOD.  He says on the one side, that the wrath of GOD is revealed from heaven against those who are unrighteous, those who have broken GOD's law.  But, in the Gospel of Christ, the righteousness of GOD is also revealed.  The LAW of GOD is the Dividing Line between these two sides.  The good news of the Gospel is that there is a way that we can cross over this line!  We may move from one side to the other; from the wrath of GOD against our unrighteousness, to peace with GOD through the righteousness of Christ.  That way, the only way, is faith in Jesus Christ.  As it is written, "the just shall live by faith".
