Jesus was delivered up for us, and raised for our Justification!

Romans 4:23-25 KJV Now it was not written for [Abraham's] sake alone, that [righteousness] was imputed to him;  (24)  But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;  (25)  Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. The promise is for those who believe.  Listen to today's message to hear what you must know and believe about Jesus Christ! 2018-12-09 - Delivered And Raised For Us

Through the Bible in 2018!!

Image
Jesus answered, " It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God ". ~ Matthew 4:4 Have you read through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation?  Why not make 2018 the year to read the entire Bible, or take your family through the Bible? There are several reasons why we should read the Bible DAILY : as Jesus himself says (verse above) the WORD of GOD is bread to our soul  we are told to desire the WORD to grow by it (1 Peter 2:2)  we should meditate on GOD's WORD day and night (Psalm 1:2)  the WORD corrects, instructs, and equips us (2 Timothy 3:16-17)  Of course this takes commitment and discipline.  Accountability can be a great helper, so consider agreeing with other families to read through the Bible together.  This will also lead to some wonderful studies and discussions, since you will be covering the same topics at the same time! Here is a great, and very pr...

Christ In Canada 150 - The Constitution

Image
Leading up to our celebration of Canada Day 2017, we have looked at several examples of our Christian national heritage and the founding of our Country.  In this final post in our “ Christ In Canada 150 ” series, we will consider our Constitution. The “Dominion of Canada” was originally created in 1867 by an act of the British Parliament, and the Queen’s Assent, as a union of the Province of Canada (Ontario / Quebec), New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.  This is known as the British North American Act, or BNA. It was not until 1982, under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, that the Constitution was patriated; i.e. transferred under the authority of the Canadian Parliament.  In that Act, Part 1 is known as the “Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms” and it begins with the following preamble: “Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of  God and the rule of law:” In the opening sentence of our Constitution, our Parliament and al...

Christ In Canada 150 - Our National Anthem

Image
As we look at some of the examples of Christian heritage in the history of Canada, we should also expect to find such Faith proclaimed in our music and literature.  In this third post in our “ Christ In Canada 150 ” series, we will consider our national anthem, “O Canada”. “O Canada” was originally written in 1880 for the St. Jean de Baptiste day ceremony.  The music was composed by Calixa Lavallee and the words, in French, by poet and judge Sir Adolphe Basile Routhier. Routhier’s original version, translated into English, contains the following stanza: Sacred love of the throne and the altar,   Fill our hearts with your immortal breath!   Among the foreign races,   Our guide is the law:   Let us know how to be a people of brothers,   Under the yoke of faith.   And repeat, like our fathers,   The battle cry: "For Christ and King!"   The battle cry: "For Christ and King!" There were several different versions creat...
